Either way, from how they act towards each other, they're close. No matter how much they complain. It would probably be best to keep an eye on anyone who already knew each other prior, since they're more likely to work with each other. Perhaps not let them check each other.

there's an uncomfortable feeling in his chest, which confuses him since he does not remotely care about miki dying. if he had it his way, she would have been dead much sooner. ]

the first is that, it's always humans. the second the world falls apart, they turn on each other and point fingers. isn't that what happened today? as soon as they found someone to blame, everyone immediately started lashing out at bucky.
the second is that he kind of wishes he could have seen akira's reaction to all of this while it was happening. ]
When he and his mother went missing? [ that's one mystery solved. ] Right...
[ he slowly reaches a hand out to place it on akira's shoulder. ]
[ ryo reaches out to give him a hug. it's not as tightly as he normally would, since he half expects akira to shove him off. ]
They are. And I'm sure it's my fault. [ probably. akira would not be this angry at him if it was not his fault. ] But I'm here for you, Akira. Even if you hate me.
[ because in ryo's eyes, they will always be together. ]
[Tension creeps into his shoulders, like a reflex, then it eases out again. He really doesn't have anyone left except the one person who already made his life hell, huh?

but it's fine. he will quietly hold onto him, his gaze focused on the wall behind them.
there is still a lot of work to be done here, but at least now ryo has a better idea of what the wound is here. there is definitely still more going on, but knowing that miki is involved does help him understand the depth of it.
