[His eyes flutter closed. His face twists like it does right before he starts bawling, but still no tears come out.]

I knew it was probably him... but I didn't want to say anything... because it seemed like an accident.

[ he thinks about how lavi apparently got him out of the tank using the hammer. ]

What would you have done if someone innocent was voted for?

[His brows furrow tightly, but he doesn't open his eyes.]

Why am I even here, Ryo... Why can't I... just have eternal damnation? Like... sinking in a pit of lava, or... being tortured or whipped, or whatever else the Bible says.

[Me trying to figure out if Ryo is hugging him naked and how funny it is.

He's okay until the hug. His body slackens a little, and he loops his arms around Ryo's shoulders mostly so he can hide his face.]

he could point out that the point of eternal damnation is that you rarely get the kind of punishment you want. ]

[ he nods. he already knew the answer, but wanted to hear the confirmation anyway. ]

[ this is the nicest thing that akira is ever going to hear ryo say about someone not him. ]

[Wow. He looks a little stunned for a few seconds to hear this coming from Ryo before it fades.]

He’s one of the better ones.

[To keep from standing there being depressed, he starts picking up Ryo’s wet clothes.]

[ listen. ryo isn't saying that he wouldn't murder lavi, but the guy was like. a lil goofy guy. a funny clown boy. your favorite jester.

but he will go quiet and sit back down once he's dressed. he sneezes again. ]

[STOP SNEEZING. He cannot stand being stuck between not wanting to care and caring a whole lot!!!]

…I’m gonna take a bath in a bit. [Well. He might as well take one when he has to hang Ryo’s clothes in there to dry.] Do you want to take one?

[ he considers..... ]

[He keeps picking up the wet clothes, then the jacket. Damn, he could have waited to wring it out then. It's fine.]

Come on then.

[On the way to the door, he halts and looks back to check on the cat! It's loafing in the chair, and he looks relieved.]

[ he will follow after him, pausing when akira suddenly does. ]

You really didn't eat it.

I think I thought it was too pathetic to eat.

[He is glad he didn't eat it. Also WOW, believe in him a little more.

He leads Ryo out.]

[ believing in akira is one thing, believing in a feral demon is another.

He takes Ryo to the bathroom, but goes slow because he thinks he's gonna have to drop all these clothes to catch him. Ryo can do what he likes inside.

Akira is going to wring out the rest of the clothes and hang them all up on an empty stall.]
